X299-WU8整体为灰色调风格，只有声卡部分元器件略做红色点缀，整体视觉效果非常舒服。当然如果你喜欢玩灯，它也预留了RGB灯带插针。主板为E-ATX大板型布局，供电电路、内存、芯片组、桥接芯片等都覆盖散热片并通过热管连接，24+8+8+6针供电，支持LGA2066接口的酷睿X系列发烧型号，并有Smart Fan 5智能风扇监控技术。

内存插槽八条，支持四通道DDR4-2677，可超批到4000MHz并有各家品牌内存认证，最大容量128GB，但不支持ECC。存储有八个SATA 6Gbps、一个M.2 2280(PCI-E 3.0 x4)，支持Intel VROC、傲腾。扩展插槽多达七条PCI-E 3.0 x16，借助两颗博通PLX8747桥接芯片，可以支持x16/x16/x16/x16四卡并行或者x16/x8/x8/x8/x8/x8七路并行，包括AMD CrossFire、NVIDIA SLI(尤其是Quadro专业卡)，而且所有插槽都做了一体化金属加固处理，并有一个6针接口负责辅助供电。

网卡是双路Intel千兆(I211-AT?)，支持协作加速，而声卡部分基于Realtek ALC1220-VB芯片，支持120db信噪比、智能耳机AMP，录音则是114dB。USB接口有原生的十个USB 3.0(背部六个)、两个USB 2.0，以及祥硕主控的USB 3.1 Gen.2 Type-C/A各一个。
